Someone's El Tri Questions Answered

With World Cup ticket in hand, Mexico now readies a roster for another crack at this beautifully maddening tournament. Despite the smooth qualifying process, Juan Carlos Osorio and his El Tri will have much to solidify and solve before Russia rolls along. To that end, I’ve answered questions about this team, its manager, and the region in general. I’ve meticulously compiled these fictitious questions from potential readers. Thanks as always.

Beware the Friendlies of March

This week Miguel Herrera announced his Mexican national team roster for the upcoming friendlies with Ecuador and Paraguay.  Obviously, this roster doesn't carry the weight of a World Cup roster or even a Gold Cup roster. It is a group preparing for two March friendlies.

Two National Teams

One summer. Two big tournaments.

Mexico is faced with fielding a national team for this summer's Gold Cup and Copa America.  While it would be nice to bring Mexico's best possible eleven to each tournament, it is unreasonable and not particularly nice for those selected players. There isn't a long offseason for soccer players; filling it with two separate international tournaments is a bit much.
